Job description
Step into a rewarding contract role as an Occupational Therapist supporting young learners in a vibrant preschool environment near Somersworth, NH. This full-time position provides maternity leave coverage from January through the end of April, working closely with approximately 35 preschool students. Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapy license for New Hampshire
Previous experience as a school-based OT, particularly in early childhood or preschool settings, is highly desirable
Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families
Adaptability and creativity in delivering therapy in dynamic, play-based environments
Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments and develop targeted therapy plans for preschool-aged students
Implement occupational therapy interventions focused on enhancing fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to integrate therapy activities into daily routines
Monitor student progress, adjust plans as necessary, and maintain thorough documentation for each child
Engage in case conferences and communicate clearly with families to support student growth
Provide guidance and support to staff on best practices for accommodating students' needs in the classroom
