Job description
Step into a rewarding part-time role supporting elementary students' growth and well-being! This contract opportunity near Sunnyvale, CA, is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who thrives in a school environment and enjoys fostering student independence and engagement. You'll be working with TK-5th grade students, lending your expertise over two mornings per week (approximately 8:30 am - 12:30 pm), throughout the academic year. Experience the satisfaction of shaping young lives, while earning between $55 and $70 per hour.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
Familiarity with interventions for a range of fine and gross motor needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration
Ability to assess, build, and implement individualized therapeutic strategies
Compassionate, patient approach to working with TK-5th grade students
Adaptable and organized, able to manage a flexible, part-time schedule
Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs
Develop and implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals
Provide direct intervention, consultation, and support to students and staff
Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to maximize student achievement
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute specialized expertise
Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom modifications when needed
