School Nurse Opportunity
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a vital part of the school day. This full-time, onsite role for the upcoming school year runs from 8:45am to 3:45pm, providing services tailored to young learners and ensuring a safe, caring environment for every child.
Your expertise as a Registered Nurse will directly impact student well-being, particularly for those requiring ongoing medical support such as diabetes care, G-tube management, and seizure response. You’ll serve as a point of contact for staff and faculty, collaborating closely with educators and families to promote health and safety throughout the campus community.
Key Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Illinois is required
Previous experience as a school nurse is essential
Strong pediatric clinical skills, particularly with diabetes, G-tube, and seizure protocols
Ability to work independently, demonstrating sound clinical judgment and effective communication
Please note: LPN credentials are not accepted for this role
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, compassionate nursing care to elementary students according to individualized needs
Administer medications and specialized health procedures
Respond to health emergencies, including seizure and diabetic episodes
Provide health education to students, families, and staff
Maintain accurate health records and uphold confidentiality
Participate in development of health plans and contribute to wellness initiatives across the school

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
