Job description
A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Registered Nurse eager to make a positive impact in a dynamic school environment near Little Rock, AR. This full-time contract role offers the chance to float between three school sites, supporting students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. As the lead nurse, you'll oversee a dedicated medical assistant at each campus and play a key role in maintaining the health and safety of the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care and respond to medical needs for students and staff across three K-12 school sites
Supervise and guide three on-site medical assistants to ensure high-quality health services delivery
Support chronic disease management, medication administration, and emergency care
Create and implement individualized healthcare plans for students as needed
Promote health education and wellness initiatives school-wide
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student health needs
Multi-task in a fast-paced, multi-location environment, adapting to changing priorities throughout the school day
Qualifications: Active RN license, in good standing, valid in Arkansas
Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric/children's healthcare preferred
Bilingual ability (Spanish) is a strong asset
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel between sites as needed
Familiarity with best practices in school health and student care
