Job description
Make a lasting impact on student well-being by supporting preschool, elementary, or middle school students as a dedicated health room professional. This full-time contract opportunity runs from September 3rd, 2026, through June 23rd, 2027, and features a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (32.5 hours per week). Currently, there are two roles available-perfect for experienced nurses who are passionate about school health and committed to fostering a nurturing environment.
As the sole nurse on-site, you will be the primary point of care for students in your assigned building, backed by an advisory support team if needed. Your expertise will make a real difference each day, providing care, education, and reassurance to children and their families.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Active New Jersey RN or CSN license required
Previous school nurse experience preferred
Familiarity with Genesis charting system is a strong advantage
Ability to function confidently as the only nurse in the building
Experience working with preschool, elementary, or middle school populations is ideal
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities: Delivering comprehensive health services to students and staff
Managing medication administration, first aid, and emergency care
Maintaining accurate health records using the Genesis system
Promoting health education and wellness initiatives
Collaborating with school staff, parents, and the district advisory team
