Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Registered Nurse (RN) supporting students in a school setting near Richmond, VA. This position offers the chance to make a lasting impact on children's health and wellbeing while working alongside dedicated educational professionals and support staff.
Qualifications:
Current and active RN licensure in Virginia (or eligibility for reciprocity)
Previous experience in a school, pediatrics, or relevant clinical environment
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities
Commitment to confidentiality and compassionate care for students of all backgrounds
Key Responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care to students and staff, including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response
Collaborate with educators, counselors, and parents to support student health plans and IEPs
Conduct health screenings, provide chronic condition management, and assist in immunization compliance
Educate students and staff on wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention measures
Maintain detailed and accurate health records in accordance with district policy and privacy standards
Serve as a resource for health-related questions and ensure adherence to best nursing practices
