Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Transportation Nurse in northwest Pennsylvania. This role is perfect for licensed RNs or LPNs/LVNs interested in making a daily impact on student wellness, with morning and afternoon shifts that allow for a midday break. Your workday begins at the district transportation office, from where you'll accompany a student on their school bus route, ensuring their health and safety during transit. After returning mid-morning, you'll have a substantial break before heading back for the afternoon ride.
In this role, you will:
Safeguard students' health and respond to any medical needs while traveling to and from school
Collaborate closely with transportation staff to maintain a safe, supportive environment on the bus
Provide timely and appropriate interventions as needed
Communicate clearly with families and school teams regarding daily care and observations
Uphold all relevant policies and maintain documentation as required
Preferred qualifications and requirements: Active RN or LPN/LVN licensure in Pennsylvania
Current Pennsylvania clearances (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with children in schools preferred, but not required
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Commitment to punctuality and reliability
Compassionate, patient, and responsive to student needs
