In this contract, full-time position based near Arlington Heights, the primary focus is on collaboration and advocacy. You'll work closely with building nurses to ensure the highest standards of care. No everyday caseload is required. Instead, you'll be instrumental in supporting IEP meetings, conducting thorough medical reviews, and completing initial and re-evaluation health assessments as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Experience supporting or mentoring other healthcare professionals preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and advocacy
Prior background in school nursing or pediatric care is a plus
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities necessary for medical documentation
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a resource to RNs across four school buildings, fostering best practices
Attend IEP meetings to provide medical insights and help develop student plans
Handle medical reviews accurately and efficiently
Complete initial and re-evaluation assessments according to district and state requirements
Collaborate with educational staff and parents to help students with diverse health needs thrive in the classroom setting
