School Nurse Opportunity
Make a direct impact on the health and well-being of young students as a dedicated school nurse supporting a vibrant PreK-3rd grade community of 540 children. This fulfilling contract opportunity runs ASAP through December 1, 2026, offering steady, weekday hours (35 hours/week, 8:15am-3:15pm). Your clinical compassion and expertise will make a difference each day, creating a safe and supportive environment for children to learn and thrive.
Preferred candidates bring pediatric experience or previous school nursing, along with skilled knowledge in tube-feeding, catheter care, and diabetic management. You'll work independently within the school health office while collaborating with educators, families, and community health providers.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license required
Experience with tube-feeding, catheterization, and diabetic care essential
Pediatric or school nursing background strongly preferred
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to build rapport with elementary-age children, staff, and parents
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver daily nursing care and first aid to students, addressing injuries, illnesses, and chronic health needs
Administer and document medications, manage health plans for students with diabetes or other conditions
Provide specialized care such as tube-feedings and catheterization as needed
Promote a healthy, inclusive school environment through education and prevention
Support crisis response, collaborate with faculty regarding student care and health education
Maintain confidential health records and uphold all state/federal protocols

Compensation for this position ranges from $31.63 to $51.63. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
