Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a true difference in a student's life as a dedicated Registered Nurse in a supportive elementary school setting. This full-time role focuses on providing essential 1:1 care for an elementary-aged child, creating a safe and nurturing environment within the school community.
Your day-to-day will encompass comprehensive nursing care and specialized interventions, including tracheostomy management, for a student with unique medical needs. Collaborative communication with families, fellow school staff, and healthcare team members is central to ensuring the student's well-being and full participation in school activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active RN license in Maine
Prior experience in pediatric or school-based nursing preferred
Strong trach care expertise essential
Current CPR/BLS certification
Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate 1:1 care
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfort working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 nursing care to an elementary student during the school day
Administer trach care, suctioning, and other medical interventions as needed
Monitor the student's health status and respond to emergencies
Collaborate with school personnel and the student's family to promote health and independence
Document care and interventions in compliance with health and education standards
Support participation in classroom activities while ensuring safety
