Job description
Step into a rewarding opportunity in an elementary school setting dedicated to supporting young learners from PreK to 3rd grade. This contract role is ideal for a Registered Nurse with a passion for early childhood care and a commitment to making a real difference in a vibrant educational environment. The assignment begins September 8th and initially runs through October 8th, with the strong possibility of extending through the remainder of the school year.
Key Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential required
Preferred experience in school nursing, particularly with early childhood populations
Ability to manage a building caseload of approximately 500 students
Strong communication skills and a caring, proactive approach with children, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PreK-3rd grade students, addressing illness, injury, and chronic/acute health needs
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being and assist with health education
Maintain accurate records and adhere to all school health protocols and state regulations
Monitor immunizations, conduct health screenings, and participate in IEP or 504 plan meetings as needed
Respond swiftly and compassionately to emergency situations within the school environment
Foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere where students feel supported and understood
