School Registered Nurse (RN)

nThe School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis' philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
nMinimum Requirements:
nnnCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state ofemployment
n
nnBachelor's Degree, preferred
n
nnSchool Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
n
nnOne year of school nursing, public health or pediatricexperience, preferred
n
nnComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
n
nnCurrent CPR if applicable
n
nnTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
n
nnCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
n
nnMust meet all federal, state and local requirements
n
nnMust be at least 18 years of age
