School Registered Nurse | Roscoe, Illinois

This engaging position is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse interested in making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while working closely with an outstanding team of professionals.
Step into a full-time role, working on-site within school hours (approximately 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m.). You’ll collaborate directly with students and educational staff, providing attentive care to an 18-year-old student with specific nursing needs. The primary responsibility involves routine suctioning via tracheostomy; no prior trach experience is required, as thorough training will be conducted onsite alongside experienced school nurses. The student is wheelchair-bound, safely secured with a belt, and supported by a dedicated paraprofessional for any changing or positioning needs plus convenient lift access for safe transfers.
Desired Skills and Background:
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
Prior experience in pediatric, school-based, or special needs nursing preferred
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Compassionate, patient-centered approach
Willingness to learn and adapt to school health protocols
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized, attentive care and suctioning for assigned student
Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, educators, and fellow healthcare staff
Support student safety, mobility, and personal care needs within the school setting
Keep accurate health records and communicate patient updates as needed
Participate in ongoing professional development and training

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
