Job description
Embark on a contract opportunity providing vital healthcare support to students in a local school environment near Westland, MI. This position is ideal for registered nurses seeking to make a direct impact on student well-being, collaborating with educators and families to foster a safe, healthy learning atmosphere.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
Recent experience in a school nursing or pediatric setting preferred
Familiarity with individual healthcare plans (IHPs) and special education needs
Comfortable conducting health assessments, medication administration, and urgent care
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information professionally
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents
Key Responsibilities: Deliver daily health services and interventions to students and staff, addressing both acute and chronic medical issues
Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific needs
Manage medication administration, health screenings, and immunization compliance
Act as a resource for health education, wellness promotion, and disease prevention within the school
Respond promptly to emergencies, providing swift triage and first aid as needed
Document all nursing activities accurately, maintaining comprehensive health records in accordance with legal requirements
Support students with disabilities and collaborate with special education teams
