Job description
Make a difference in local schools as a substitute nurse in the upcoming school year! Schools in the Parryville, Bowmanstown, Apps, Cherryville, and neighboring areas are seeking caring and dedicated nurses (LPNs or RNs) to provide support as needed. This flexible, per diem opportunity is perfect for healthcare professionals who want to contribute their skills to support student health and well-being within nearby communities.
You'll step in when the regular school nurse or health room technician is unavailable, ensuring students get the care they deserve to stay safe and healthy during the school day. Although these needs don't arise frequently, your professional expertise is essential to keep schools running smoothly when absences occur.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN/LVN license in Pennsylvania
Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
Comfortable providing basic assessment, first aid, and medication administration
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Ability to quickly adjust to new environments and handle varying health needs
Responsibilities Include: Filling in for the regular school nurse or health room technician on a per diem basis
Assessing and managing student health concerns as they arise
Administering medications and treatments in accordance with school policies
Promoting a safe, healthy school environment
Accurately documenting health office visits and interventions
