Registered Nurse (RN) - Elementary School
Near Lakewood, WA
Pay Rate: $41-$47 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 16, 2027
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week
Setting: Two Elementary Schools
License Required: Active Washington RN License
ESA Certification Required
Position Overview
CareStaff Partners is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, short-term school-based assignment supporting students at two elementary schools near Lakewood, Washington .
The school RN will provide essential health services across both school sites, including managing and overseeing individualized health plans, medication orders, student health needs, and other school-based nursing services .
The RN will split their workdays between the two elementary school locations while collaborating closely with school staff, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure students receive safe and appropriate care.
Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing services to students across two elementary school sites.
Develop, implement, and oversee individualized student health plans.
Review and manage medication orders and medication administration.
Monitor and respond to students' healthcare needs throughout the school day.
Provide first aid and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation.
Communicate with parents, school staff, healthcare providers, and other members of the student's care team.
Provide health education and guidance to students and staff as appropriate.
Ensure nursing services are provided within the RN scope of practice and applicable Washington State regulations.
Support a safe, inclusive, and student-centered school environment.
Required Qualifications
Active Washington State RN License in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN ).
ESA Certification required.
Current CPR/BLS certification .
Ability to perform nursing functions within the RN scope of practice under WAC .
Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently across multiple school sites.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year of RN experience in a Washington healthcare or school-based setting.
Experience working with electronic health records (EHR).
Experience working with children or in a pediatric setting.
Training or experience in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, or culturally responsive practices.
Assignment Details
This is a full-time, school-based RN assignment serving two elementary schools. The RN will divide their schedule between both sites and provide coverage for a minimum of four weeks.
