nMaxim Healthcare is proud to partner with the Harvard School District in our search for compassionate and reliable Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide one-on-one care for students during their transportation to and from school.
nThis rewarding role allows you to combine your nursing expertise with a predictable schedule while helping students safely access their education each day. You'll provide individualized support during transportation and play an important part in ensuring a safe and comfortable ride for medically fragile students.
nThis opportunity resumes for the Fall 2026 school year.

nnnOne trip with two students

nnFollowed by a longer route with one student

nComprehensive training and care plans will be provided for all students.

n nWhat You'll Do
nAs a School Transport Nurse, you will:
nnnProvide skilled nursing support during student transportation
n
nnMonitor students with complex medical needs
n
nnAdminister care related to tracheostomies, G-tubes, seizure disorders, diabetes, and other medical conditions as needed
n
nnRespond appropriately to changes in condition according to established care plans
n
nnCommunicate effectively with families, transportation teams, school staff, and clinical supervisors
n
nnEnsure student comfort, safety, and well-being throughout each route
n
nnMaintain accurate documentation and compliance with care protocols
n
n nQualifications
nnnActive Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
n
nnCurrent BLS Certification
n
nnCurrent Health Certificate (per state regulations)
n
nnCurrent PPD or Chest X-Ray
n
nnOne year of RN experience preferred
n
nnExperience with trach care, enteral feeding, seizure management, or pediatric nursing is a plus
n
nnAbility to follow detailed care plans and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
n
