Job description
Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students and school communities as a School Social Worker for the 2026/2027 academic year. This contract position offers flexibility-choose from full-time or part-time roles, working 7-hour days, onsite within a collaborative educational setting. With placements beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 16, 2027, you'll play a vital role in student development and well-being.
You'll be assigned caseloads based on the dynamic needs and unique context of the school or program. Current openings include several part-time positions and a full-time, long-term substitute assignment running approximately mid-October through mid-April. The educational leadership team is eager to connect with dedicated professionals ready to make a difference and is scheduling interviews right away.
Key qualifications:
Valid School Social Worker certification or eligibility
Experience working as a Social Worker within school environments
Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), counseling, crisis intervention, and family engagement
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Flexibility and sensitivity to the needs of diverse student populations
Responsibilities: Provide direct support to students in social, emotional, and behavioral areas
Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to students' needs
Contribute to the IEP process and participate in meetings as needed
Deliver counseling services and facilitate group sessions
Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community resources
Support district-wide initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive school climate
