Job description
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity making a difference for students and families in the 2026/2027 academic year. A school district near Tobyhanna, PA is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide essential support and advocacy for its school community. This full-time position (37.5 hours/week) will begin as soon as possible and continue through May 28, 2027.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in school-based social work, with a passion for helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your expertise will support students, families, and staff, guiding them through challenges with professionalism and compassion.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid licensure/certification as a School Social Worker
Previous experience in school settings highly preferred
Strong understanding of relevant social, emotional, and behavioral interventions
Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct counseling and support services to students
Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans
Act as a liaison between school, home, and community resources
Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to support student needs
Maintain accurate, timely records and reports according to school policies
Offer crisis intervention assistance and consult with staff on student issues
