Job description

This school-based role offers the opportunity to work closely with students, families, and educational staff in a dynamic contract position in the South Lyon, MI area. Your expertise as a Social Worker will play a key role in fostering a positive school climate and advocating for student needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program
Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker
Previous experience in a school, youth services, or related setting preferred
Strong understanding of child development, crisis intervention, and behavioral management
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Ability to manage caseloads and provide both individual and group support effectively
Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for at-risk students
Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to implement strategies that support student well-being and academic performance
Participate in IEP meetings, support special education needs, and ensure compliance with all school, state, and federal guidelines
Connect students and families to community resources and coordinate outside services as needed
Promote positive school climate and facilitate workshops on social-emotional learning topics
