Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Art Therapist, supporting students across various school sites in Frederick County. Working closely within an engaging educational environment, you'll have the chance to make a real difference by fostering creativity and emotional growth among students during the academic year, from August 19th through June 4th.
In this onsite role, you will be providing art therapy services to a caseload of 15 students. Your expertise will help guide children through personal development and self-expression, all within the school setting. This part-time position spans 20 flexible hours, between 8am and 4pm, allowing you to balance your professional goals with other interests.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active State Licensure through the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists is required
Previous experience as an Art Therapist or School Therapist strongly preferred
A passion for supporting student growth, well-being, and creative expression
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills for working in multidisciplinary teams
Ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to varied student needs in a school environment
Core Responsibilities: Deliver individual and group art therapy sessions to assigned students
Develop and implement art-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each student's needs
Collaborate with school staff and families to support holistic student progress
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school and state guidelines
Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing program development
