Job Summary

We are seeking a Scientist I to provide technical and laboratory support for diagnostic products within a Technical Product Support team. The position will primarily support oligonucleotide manufacturing, characterization, validation, product testing, and continuous improvement activities .

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical discipline, hands-on wet laboratory experience, and a strong foundation in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field. Experience with oligonucleotide chemistry, analytical characterization, assay development, or small-molecule chemistry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for diagnostic products under the guidance of senior scientific team members.

Assist with the design and execution of laboratory experiments.

Perform testing using analytical chemistry instruments and analyze resulting data.

Summarize experimental results and communicate findings to project stakeholders.

Perform hands-on wet laboratory activities supporting product testing, characterization, and development.

Support oligonucleotide manufacturing, characterization, validation, and continuous-improvement activities.

Apply applicable Quality System requirements to laboratory and technical activities.

Support change-control processes and technical impact assessments.

Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners to investigate technical documentation and product-related issues.

Support identification and resolution of technical and product-related issues.

Maintain accurate laboratory records, experimental data, and technical documentation.

Follow established laboratory procedures, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Apply scientific and analytical techniques to support product and process activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Organic Chemistry, or another relevant scientific or technical discipline .

Master's degree is preferred.

Hands-on experience working in a wet laboratory environment .

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and data-analysis skills.

Ability to perform laboratory experiments and analyze experimental data.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation.

General understanding of organic chemistry principles .

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations .

Working knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistry .

Experience with oligonucleotide:

Synthesis

Purification

Analytical characterization

Experience with analytical chemistry instruments.

Experience with product testing, characterization, or validation.

Experience with small-molecule chemistry or related wet-lab techniques.

Experience working within a regulated quality system.

Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline may offset applicable experience requirements.

Work Requirements

Position is onsite in Des Plaines, Illinois .

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM .

Ability to perform hands-on laboratory and wet-lab activities.

Ability to work with laboratory equipment and analytical chemistry instruments.

Ability to accurately document experiments, test results, and technical activities.

Ability to work collaboratively with scientists, engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Ability to learn and follow applicable quality-system, change-control, and laboratory procedures.
