Main work assignments involve, but not limited to:Hand pollination of sweet corn plantsPlant tissue samplingRouging of sweet corn fieldsPossible assisting in harvest of hand pollinations if neededAdditional duties may be assignedRequired knowledge & Skills:Good interpersonal skillsGood and consistent observation skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsTakes direction well and works great in a team environmentWhat we expect of you: To be considered, you will need:Below high school diploma with relevant experience; high school diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum of 1 year related experiencePhysical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.This position will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work long days in outside environment. Conditions can include high heat, insects, cold, and various environmental issues. The employee will need to walk on uneven ground (production fields), work near equipment or machinery, and may be exposed to vibration or constant movement. The noise levels can be high during certain planting and harvest events.Employee is required to wear working boots that will stand mud, water and dirt. Light weight, long sleeves, and pants are suggested for the high heat, as well as a hat. Required PPE will be provided by HM Clause.
