Gift Shop AssociateThe Gift Shop Associate operates in various locations at Atlanta Botanical Garden and works closely with customers to determine their needs and answer their questions about our products. The Gift Shop associate must stay up to date with product features and maintain our shop's visual appearance in high standards.This a temporary position, the season will begin around mid-October and continue through January 10th.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet guests with a smile and a verbal welcome using an enthusiastic and pleasant mannerProcess all Point-of-Sale transactions and functions accuratelyPromote and actively sell gift shop productsMaintaining sales floor appearances by restocking throughout shiftPrice and check new product before it is put on the sales floor/stockroomProvide guests with directions to ticketing and food venues, offices, and special eventsMaintain clean working environmentMaintain a working relationship with other departments to ensure up-to-date garden knowledgeRequirementsMinimum of one year experience in hospitality or customer service industry preferredMinimum of one year retail experience preferredMust be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkersMust be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidaysMust have excellent communication skills and sense of appropriateness to converse with employees and guestsMust be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measureMust be able to understand a personal computer's basic functions and operate itMust be able to take direction from others in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to work independently and as part of a teamMust have reliable transportationThe above job duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory of all duties required of employees in this job.It is the policy of the Atlanta Botanical Garden to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
