Secretary/Bookkeeper PositionMost Pure Heart of Mary Church in Chamois, MO has an opening for a Secretary/Bookkeeper. This is a part-time position at 16 hours per week.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Greets visitors to the office in a professional and friendly mannerResponds to mail, emails, voicemails and telephone callsAssists other staff members when time, energy and skill permitMaintains accurate records and takes minutes of meetings as directed by pastorServes as secretary to the pastorPerforms all payroll activities including onboarding employees, employee data maintenance, time & labor, vacation and sick accrual and processes payrollAttends parish meetings as required and takes minutesKeeps vital statistics for the parishKeeps pastor informed of vital concerns within the parishCreates a weekly bulletinSchedules Eucharistic ministersClips and files all newspaper ads and articles concerning the parishMaintains positive relationship with parish council members and other volunteersMaintains a reasonable inventory of church suppliesHandles routine questions about policiesPreparation of payroll, associated taxes and reportsPrepare bank deposits and records receiptsPrepare vouchers, including coding and payment of outstanding invoicesReconciles parish, school and cemetery books, if applicablePrepares financial statements as requestedAttends parish finance council meetings, as requestedMaintains tuition and school accounts, if applicablePerforms other duties as assignedJob Qualifications:Computer and organizational skillsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel3 – 5 years previous training or experience as a bookkeeperAbility to maintain confidentialityIntermediate and accurate mathematical skills
