Job PostingJob SummaryUnder the direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, the Secretary is responsible for the provision of administrative and clerical support services in support of the department operations.Jobsite is in Weslaco TXEssential Job FunctionsAssists staff, public and other departments in furnishing information to resolve problems.Answers telephone and handles in-person inquiries, service requests, complains and or directs to appropriate person.Helps the department in a courteous and efficient manner while also handling unusual or difficult situations.Receives and processes citizen complaints for Parks & Recreation Department and issues work orders to resolve.Produces quality correspondence and other routine documents, memos, vouchers, requisitions, purchase orders, bid documents and contract documents.Maintain regular and prompt attendance, physically present to work.Employee may be required to work beyond normal business hours at night and/or on weekends.Process and schedules parks, pavilion and fields rentals.Handles cash and electronic payments for park, pavilion, field rentals and cemetery plots.Creates agenda items and minutes for monthly department meeting or as scheduled.Process and guide citizens on City Cemetery purchase requirements, payment plans and fees.Schedule cemetery burialsPerforms other similar or related duties as assigned.Resume is requiredSchedule is from 7am-4pm (or until dismissal)
