Job description
Control Center Operations OfficerThe SCC personnel shall be responsible for monitoring and responding to automated alarm systems, monitoring and operating video surveillance systems, monitoring and operating the OSN 911 notification system, dispatching security personnel, contacting first responders, using notification matrix, and maintaining a key control box and log, an events log, and completing required documents.Duties:Making sound decisions while communicating with other security personnel during crisis situationsObserving situations analytically and objectively and recording them clearly and completelyReacting quickly and calmly in emergenciesCommunicating clearly and concisely and relaying details accuratelyWriting or providing oral situation reports regarding security related informationReporting potential threatening situations and violation of law and security proceduresHandling situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and impartiallyRecalling numerous details and essential informationDetermining security prioritiesOperating radio, telephone, keyboard, computer terminal, and related communications equipmentCreating and maintain manual and automated logs and other recordsWorking knowledge of Microsoft products, (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)Monitoring fire alarms and notify building management and maintenance personnel, as necessaryMonitoring and operating electronic access control and video surveillance monitoring systems to detect security risks, threats or prohibited itemsDispatching roving or mobile patrols, as necessaryCoordinating the receipt, issuance and tracking of keys, key cards, and temporary access proximity cardsUtilizing mass notification and emergency response systemsMaking Public Announcements (PA) when requiredOperating the Electronic Security System interface SITUATOR Solution for electronic access control system for alarm monitoring, access control, and surveillance video monitoringOccasionally operating LENEL electronic access control system or any other system installed by SSA for alarm monitoring, access controlOperating the SSA Physical Access Management (PAM) Visitor moduleOperating the Government Provided Radio Communications Dispatch ConsoleManaging fire, police and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responseRequirements:Each new SCC operator must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a security control center/dispatch environmentMust possess a valid state Security Guard License and Handgun Permit as applicableMinimum age requirement: 21 yearsUS citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current members of the U.S. Armed Services or individuals with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. MilitaryPossession of an approved Social Security Card issued by SSAAbility to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify systemFluent in spoken, written, and comprehended EnglishPossession of a current State-issued Driver's License or State IDEOE/M/F/D/V
