Job description
A global financial services organization is seeking an AVP-level Security Engineer to join a lean Information Security engineering team in New York City. This individual will help engineer, automate, and strengthen technical security controls across a sophisticated enterprise environment.
The role will initially have a strong focus on security automation before expanding across cloud security, architecture, governance, and enterprise security tooling. The ideal candidate combines hands-on security engineering experience with strong Python scripting skills and an ability to solve security problems through automation.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain automation supporting security engineering processes.
Develop Python scripts and integrations for security use cases.
Support security architecture and implementation of technical controls.
Help establish and maintain cloud security governance and controls.
Integrate security capabilities with development and CI/CD workflows.
Support enterprise security technologies across multiple control areas.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of security engineering issues.
Contribute to on-call coverage and broader security initiatives.
Role Requirements:
4-8 years of relevant security or cybersecurity engineering experience.
Experience implementing or engineering security controls.
Understanding of security architecture principles.
Experience securing public cloud environments.
Knowledge of modern enterprise security tooling.
Familiarity with source control and CI/CD processes.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work effectively within a small engineering team.
Ability to work primarily onsite in New York City.
Nice to Have:
Microsoft Azure security experience
Tines or comparable security automation/SOAR experience
PowerShell
SIEM, CASB, firewall, proxy, and Zero Trust experience
Financial services or regulated-industry experience
