Title: Security Engineer
Location: Rockville, MD
Duration: 12+ months
Essential Job Functions
Gather user requirements and translate those into implemented rules
Work with end-users to troubleshoot connectivity issues
Create enhanced monitoring of software defined perimeter solution
Perform thorough testing of new software clients and work to have them deployed in production
Collaborate with software Vendor to address issues as they arise
Test and upgrade the AWS stack as new AMI’s become available
Other Job Functions
Create documentation for end-users and other engineers.
Automate manual tasks.
Developing custom scripts to automate monitoring tasks
Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or information systems or other related field
Knowledge of networking technologies such as firewalls, proxies, gateways, and load balancers
Familiarity with many standard TCP/IP protocols such as DNS, SSH, HTTP(S), and TLS/SSL
Experience with the Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Exposure to AWS Services: EC2, S3, LAMBDA all pluses
Experience with python, perl, or other scripting language
Splunk experience a plus
Any industry standard Security Certification a plus
