Security GuardsFounded in 1966, Friendship offers diverse senior living accommodations, award-winning care, new and innovative services, as well as specialized rehab and therapy, to over 1,500 residents and patients each day. With four campuses, the earliest dating back to 1919, Friendship has grown to offer the full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, home care, outpatient therapy, inpatient rehab, long-term care and Alzheimer's and memory care. As a non-profit, Friendship provides a caring community to serve a wide-range of residents including those with limited financial means.Friendship is looking for Security Guards to join our Friendship Health and Rehab North team, located in Roanoke, VA and our Richfield Living team, located in Salem, VA. The Security Guard will ensure the safety of residents, visitors and staff on a daily basis. They will assist with directing activities associated with emergency situations that may arise on campus.Pay Rate: $15.00 per hourShifts Available: Second (2:45pm - 11:15 pm) and Third shift (11:30 pm - 8:00 am) 24-32 hours a week, includes weekends and holidaysRoles & Responsibilities:Make rounds on property and in buildings; checks doors and lock/unlock as appropriateRespond to all fire alarms- RACEMeet the rescue squad at resident apartments in cases of emergencyCheck fire extinguishers monthlyAlert Police Department as appropriate; communicate to switchboard that Police have been notified of emergency/issueLog activities daily and report them to the next guard at shift changeCheck security vehicles regularly and report any maintenance concerns to the Security Manager/Executive Director of Facilities and MaintenanceMaintain the Cut-off book in the security vehicles to be able to assist with water, electrical, fire alarm shut offsPatrol parking lot and issue tickets to cars parked in "No Parking" zonesSubject to call-back during emergency situations, i.e. severe weather, evacuation, post-disasterQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's License in the State of VirginiaKnowledge of evacuation and emergency preparedness principlesThis position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
