Security Officer 1Start a meaningful career with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) as a Security Officer 1 at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home (DVVH). In this role, you help create a safe, steady environment for veterans, their spouses, staff, and visitors who depend on your presence and support. Your work strengthens the protection of people, property, and essential daily operations. Bring your dedication to a role that honors service, values sound judgment, and makes a real impact every day.This position helps protect the safety of residents, staff, visitors, and property at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. The role includes patrolling the grounds, responding to emergencies, and supporting daily security operations. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:Patrol Duties: Check buildings, grounds, parking areas, and storage sites to prevent theft, trespass, and safety violationsAccess Control: Secure doors, monitor camera systems, guide traffic, and enforce facility rules for vehicles and visitorsResident Support: Assist with searches for missing residents, help during emergencies, and work with nursing and police when neededSecurity Checks: Conduct searches of vehicles and personal property when circumstances appear suspiciousEmergency Response: Respond to emergency calls, follow disaster procedures, and request maintenance support for urgent issuesAdministrative Tasks: Prepare daily activity reports, answer telephone calls, and offer information or directionsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
