Job description

Security OfficerThe Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for tenants, guests and employees of Ballantyne Corporate Park by patrolling and enforcing safety policies, conducting preventative inspections of the facilities and assisting with investigations.Key Responsibilities:Provide superior security service to tenants, guests and employees of Ballantyne Corporate ParkPromptly respond to any security requestsPerform building checks, making sure exterior doors are secure; check parking lots, street lighting; report any deficiencies observedAllow building or suite access for approved contractorsConduct vehicle patrols for unauthorized personnel on property, buildings, common areas, parking decks, and construction sitesContact police or fire departments when necessaryComplete other duties as assigned by the Director of SecurityEducation & Experience :High school diploma required. College degree preferred.Experience in one or more of the following fields of physical security, law enforcement, fire fighter, emergency medical services, private investigator, safety instructor or militaryKey Attributes and Skills:Superior customer service, report writing, interpersonal and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, OutlookValid NC or SC driver's license requiredMust be able to operate fire panels with the ability to enable/disable points and need to have a good understanding of how fire systems work.General knowledge of NC General Statutes and governmental law pertaining to private property, OSHA, emergency planning and CCTV.CPR/ first aid techniquesStrong criminal and accident investigation skillsStrong organizational and project management skills.Demonstrated ability in policy development, documentation, and implementation.Strong, effective communicator in writing, business presentations and interpersonal communication.Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality.Able to manage the efforts of a team of diverse security professionals.Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods, approaches, and departmental contribution while being cost-sensitive.Commitment to continuous learning.Demonstrated ability problem solve and provide strategic solutionsAbility to lead in an environment of constant change.Additional Information:Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (8 or 12-hour shifts).Physically able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps, lift and move objects up to 35 pounds, lift overhead access doors and move in different positions to accomplish tasks in both inside and outside environments.All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
