Job description
Security OfficerThe Security Officer is responsible for assisting in providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, staff, and volunteers. Security provides a vital role in safe guarding buildings, assets, and grounds on the hospital campus.Duties:Conduct regular patrols of the hospital, clinic buildings, and campus to identify potential risksAssists with escorting visitors to proper locationsAssists with patients arriving to the Emergency DepartmentMonitors and operates surveillance equipment as well as rounding to ensure real time awareness of situations or issuesResponds to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies ensuring safety of individuals on campusPerforms routine inspections of doors, windows, and immediate surroundingsChecks and completes equipment logs as requiredPrepares and maintains incident reports and daily logs that are factual and accurate – (No opinions)Assists in providing guidance to individuals on campus such as safety protocols and emergency procedures to help ensure their safetyAssists in evacuations or other emergency actions when necessaryAssists with disinfecting the E.R waiting room and wheelchairs as time allowsAssists with helicopter pad setup, landings, escort and assist crew with patient transfersQualifications:Previous experience in Security, Military, or Law enforcement preferredExceptional attention to detailsStrong problem solving and critical thinking skillsExcellent verbal communication skills while interacting with othersExcellent written communications for creating reports and reporting issuesHigh school diploma or equivalent is requiredMust complete IAHSS certification with-in 1st year of employmentMust have a valid driver's license and clean driving recordPhysical Requirements:Physically fit to handle patrolling,Must be able to sit,stand, or walk for long periods, and be able to respond quickly to incidentsAbility to remain calm and composed during emergencies or high pressure situationsMust be mentally and physically fit in the event of high risk patient interactionOSHA Exposure Classification: May come in contact with blood or body fluids May be in areas that require hearing protection during rounding May have to complete rounding in construction areas Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex/gender (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, age, physical or mental disability, military or protected veteran status, citizenship, familial or marital status, genetics, or other status protected by applicable law.
