About the Role:
The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of people, property, and information within various environments across the United States. This position involves monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules, ensuring a secure and orderly environment. The Security Officer will be responsible for responding promptly to incidents, conducting regular patrols, and managing access control systems to restrict unauthorized entry. Effective communication and the ability to operate security technology are essential to coordinate with team members and emergency responders. Ultimately, the Security Officer contributes to creating a safe atmosphere that supports the well-being of employees, visitors, and assets.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Valid Alaska drivers license required.
* Must pass required background checks.
* Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality standards.
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
* Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and cross-cultural environment.
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, standing, lifting, and responding to emergencies.
* Must obtain and maintain TEAM and CPR/First Aid certifications within 90 days of hire.
* Must be available to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
* No prior security experience required; willingness to learn and a professional attitude are essential.
* Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, healthcare, or customer service is preferred.
* Alaska Native language fluency (Yupik, Inupiaq, or other Alaska Native languages) is a plus.
