What You'll Do
Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers at a utilities location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and control entry and exit in accordance with site requirements.
Observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates and entry areas, communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts, and document security-related incidents and irregularities.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access-control areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Minimum Requirements
A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
