Job description
Security OfficerProvides protection for individuals and property from injury and/or criminal acts, prevents unauthorized entry, and responds to emergency situations. Provides cargo screening if assigned.Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points.Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior.Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.Perform other duties as assigned.Two (2) years college/equivalent.Two (2) years' experience in law enforcement/military/security or a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations.Ability to successfully complete required training programs.Strong oral and written communication skills.If posted for Global Screening team, requirements include successful completion of cargo screening training and certification.Must maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicle.Non-covered safety sensitive position.Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Able to lift 50 lbs. and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.This is an overnight shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM EDT.This position will be onsite in Newark, New Jersey.Relocation assistance is not available for this role.Pay: Minimum: $25.59/hr - Maximum: $35.82/hrThe compensation listed reflects the pay range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position at the posted location or locations. Actual pay is determined by several job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, including, but not limited to, experience relative to the job, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. In California, the compensation listed reflects the range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position upon hire. In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non-exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
