Security OfficerThe Security Officer provides professional security observation and protective services throughout the Medical Center.Responsibilities:Patrols the Hospital and groundsMonitors visitors, staff and patientsAbility to cope with physical and emotional stressUtilizes discretion and diplomacy when enforcing the Medical Center's NO smoking policyPosition is strenuous requiring extensive walking, working both indoor and outdoor in all types of weather. Light to heavy lifting may be requiredRequires possible restraint of patients, visitors and/or family membersEscorts personnel to and from buildings as necessaryConcentrates efforts on preserving peace, protecting persons/ property, and safety issues by utilizing effective observation techniquesWrites Security incident reports as required and performs other related duties as assignedDeals with outside agencies routinely (SCPD, DOH, OSHA) in a professional and appropriate mannerRequirements:High School diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in law enforcement, security, or military preferredMust possess clean/valid N.Y.S. driver's licenseMust meet N.Y.S. Security Guard license, training and registration or be currently employed as a Police Officer in accordance with NYS lawPosted Salary RangeStarting from USD $29.68/Hr.The salary rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.At Catholic Health, we believe in a people-first approach.
