You'll work as a member of a close team to form the backbone of the broad security services Inter-Con provides its valued clients every day.Specific benefits include:Competitive Pay at $24+ per hourRecognition and Reward ProgramsTraining and Career DevelopmentOpportunities for Medical, dental, Holidays, vacation and sick, and 401 (k) retirement planUniform and equipment providedAdditional benefits vary depending on positionExpected Responsibilities:Patrol on foot or vehicle observing and maintaining the security protection including at client facilities, stations, bus stops, and at public areas to detect evidence of damage, misuse or theft; issue written warnings, make citizen's arrests.Prevent the public and unauthorized individuals from entering all restricted areas of Client facilities and right-of-ways.Routinely interface with the riding public, providing general information relative to use of the system and other necessary information.Prepare and submit security reports and provide assistance to investigators as requiredParticipate in Special Enforcement Unit activities to include routine fare inspection sweeps (Compass Cards and paper passes), passenger counts, onboard and in fare paid zones and report accordingly.Respond effectively to all calls for assistance.Must be sensitive to client's culture and strive to maintain a positive client brand image.Treat Client's employees, invitee's, and guest with the utmost courtesy and respect.Qualifications:Must possess an Exposed Firearms PermitMust possess current guard cardMust possess a CPR/First-Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens Certification.Must possess a valid California Driver's LicenseMust be 21 years or olderMay be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.Physical & Working Conditions Requirements:Job operates in client sites which could be indoors, outdoors or both, depending on assignment.Position may require prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.The role may require the ability to remain standing at a fixed post for extended periods of time with limited opportunities to sit, with or without reasonable accommodation.The role may require the ability to perform continuous foot patrols for long distances while maintaining situational awareness, with or without reasonable accommodation.The position may require the ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds safely and repeatedlyThe role may require the ability to work at elevated heights, including safely ascending and descending ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation.The role may require the ability to respond rapidly to incidents, which may involve quick movement, prolonged standing, or rapid changes in direction, with or without reasonable accommodation.The position may require the ability to drive company or client vehicles for long periods of time when assignedThe role may require the ability to safely operate golf carts or similar utility vehiclesSome assignments may require bicycle patrol for long periods of time.The position may include other physically demanding tasks as required by the post e.g., restraining individuals, breaking seals on semi?trailers, opening secured containers, and other tasks as needed.Work may require to be available for various shifts and Holidays as assigned.The role may require to perform additional ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assignment.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentSpeak, read, and write English.Inter-Con OverviewFounded in 1973, Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is a leading US-owned security company, providing integrated security solutions to government and commercial customers on four continents.
