Join us in meeting the country's energy needs today and tomorrow.Salary starts @ $28.53/hour Class starts January 26, 2027Primary Purpose of Position: Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material. As specified by procedure and the site security plan, maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry. Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders.Primary Duties and Accountabilities:Maintain qualifications for positionConduct patrols and inspectionsMonitor access to security areasPerform search activitiesRespond to threats and contingency eventsPerform equipment testingConduct armed stationary, foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior)Control access and/or egress of personnel, materials and vehiclesMonitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), plant surveillance equipment and alarm systemsDeter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violationsMaintains and implements extensive NRC requirements and Federal/State Laws for site protection and protected area access controlParticipate in initial and annual formal training program to complete class and field qualifications necessary to be an armed Nuclear Security OfficerResponsible for accurate documentation and record keeping, as required by federal and corporate guidelinesMaintains thorough knowledge of plant and plant systems to adequately initiate and maintain sites defensive strategyAll other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
