Security Officer (WAE)The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are seeking responsible and vigilant individuals to serve as Security Officer (WAE). These temporary/as-needed roles support the safety and security of juvenile justice facilities by helping maintain order, prevent incidents, and promote a safe environment for youth, staff, and visitors. This position is ideal for candidates who are flexible, dependable, and passionate about public service and youth rehabilitation.Minimum Qualifications: A valid Louisiana Driver's License Preferred Qualifications: High School DiplomaSupervision Received: Close from a Juvenile Justice Specialist 4 or higher level position. Supervision Exercised: None.Job Duties:Assist with clerical dutiesAssist with transportsMonitor entrances, exits, and facility grounds to ensure security and prevent unauthorized accessConduct routine patrols and report any safety concerns or suspicious activityAssist in emergency situations, including evacuations or incident responseEnforce facility rules and support staff in maintaining orderComplete logs, incident reports, and other documentation as requiredProvide courteous assistance to visitors, staff, and youth while maintaining professional boundariesPosition-Specific Details: Work Location: This vacancy is located at the Alexandria Regional Office in Alexandria, Louisiana. Compensation: $18.00 per hour. Appointment Type: This is a part-time/WAE position
