While beauty is our heart, our people are our soul.Longwood Gardens is seeking a Security Operations Command Center (SOCC) Operator to serve as the primary dispatch and communications resource for our Public Safety & Security team. This role performs essential dispatch, monitoring, communication, and administrative functions to help maintain a safe and secure environment at Longwood Gardens. Responsibilities include:Answering and responding to incoming Public Safety & Security calls, radio communications, and emergency notificationsDispatching Public Safety personnel and coordinating responses to routine and emergency incidents, including with emergency respondersMonitoring CCTV, access control, alarm, and other security systemsBroadcasting emergency notifications and organization-wide communicationsMonitoring weather conditions and communicating significant alerts and emergency informationMaintaining accurate incident reports, activity logs, and departmental recordsTracking officer assignments, key control, staffing schedules, and daily operational activitiesMaintaining knowledge of organization facilities, roadways, and locations to support emergency responseProviding administrative and operational support, including maintaining databases and submitting service requestsEnsuring compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and emergency response protocolsThe SOCC Operator supports a 24-hour, 7-day operation. The shifts vary and include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require.The ideal candidate will possess:An associate degree in Public Safety, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred; or equivalent experience requiredA minimum of 2 years of dispatch, communications, emergency operations, security, law enforcement, healthcare, higher education, or related experienceA valid driver's license is requiredFirst Aid and/or CPR certification preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of security operations, dispatch procedures, and emergency communications such as All-Call radio systems, OnSolve, and CCTVThe ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with internal teams and external emergency responders in emergencies and high-pressure situationsStrong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to monitor multiple communication channels simultaneously while maintaining attention to detailThe ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring multiple information sources simultaneously, communicate by phone, radio, and in person, and occasionally lift up to 30 poundsLongwood Gardens is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates the complexities and differences of all living things.
