Overview
Security Professional - Armed Financial Site - Part Time — Grand Rapids, MI. Part-time security position at Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company. The role involves serving and safeguarding clients across industries such as financial institutions, with flexibility to view and pick up shifts via our Claim a Shift platform.
What You’ll Do
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the financial institution's premises and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious activity.
Maintain detailed and accurate logs of patrols, incidents, and any security-related observations as required by site procedures.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff, providing assistance as needed in accordance with Allied Universal policies.
Remain alert to any unusual activity or potential threats within the location and report findings promptly to appropriate personnel.
What We’re Looking For
Availability across various days and shifts
Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements
Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
