Security Specialist - ArmedPosition: Security Specialist - ArmedDepartment: Campus Police Status: Full Time / 80 hours per pay period Shift Hours: 12 Hour Shifts to Include Day or Night Shift, Also Weekends & HolidaysLocation: Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OHPosition SummarySecurity officer means any persons whose primary duties are to protect persons or property. Security officers means non-commissioned. Security Officers are not authorized to exercise police officer powers. Responsible for investigation of criminal offenses that occur on facility property. Enforce facility rules and regulations.EducationHigh School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum 200 hours of Police training at an Ohio Peace Training Council accredited academy.Experience: Six months' previous security or law enforcement experience is preferred.Licensure / Certification / RegistrationOPOTA- Required Basic Security Guard Training. Including, the state required 20 hours of firearms TrainingValid Ohio driver's license requiredExperienceMinimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experienceKnowledge / SkillsComputer skills desirableThis position requires an individual able to work under pressure with many interruptions while remaining calm and pleasant to the public and facility personnelGood written and oral communications and organizational skills. Some typing and computer experience required. Effective telephone skills.
