Job Summary
The Self Storage Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the facility is clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained. This role focuses on hands-on technical work, property upkeep, and supporting the operational needs of the storage facility. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining curb appeal, addressing repair needs, and providing a positive environment for customers and staff.
Self Storage Maintenance Technician Compensation:
Hourly Rate $28-$30

Self Storage Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor HVAC work.
Complete work orders promptly and ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Grounds & Property Care
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property, including landscaping, trash removal, and snow/ice removal as needed.
Conduct daily property walks to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and security concerns.
Assist with pest control measures and ensure all areas are safe and well-kept.
Preventative Maintenance
Perform regular inspections of units, gates, lighting, security systems, and other facility equipment.
Follow preventative maintenance schedules to extend the life of equipment and property assets.
Report recurring or major issues to the Maintenance Manager or Facility Manager.
Unit Preparation & Turnover
Clean, repair, and prepare units for new rentals to ensure they meet company standards.
Replace or repair doors, latches, and other unit components as needed.
Vendor & Supply Support
Assist in coordinating vendor services and monitor work for quality completion.
Maintain inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment, reporting low stock or replacement needs.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures and use protective equipment as required.
Adhere to OSHA guidelines and local safety regulations.
Document maintenance activities and keep accurate records of completed work.
Self Storage Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
Willingness to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds
2-3 years of general maintenance experience
Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Willing to work in all outdoor conditions/elements – rain, heat etc.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills
Must have a flexible schedule with weekend availability
Ability to solve problems involving: equipment/ maintenance issues, emergency situations, etc.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds is required
Valid driver's license and clean background required
