Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Account Development Executive to join an established credit technology business in the payments and financial services sector. The business is backed by a global payments group.
This is a senior individual-contributor role. It suits someone who understands how banks, credit unions and fintechs make major platform decisions, enjoys opening doors at executive level, and wants to win deals by being in the conversation before a formal buying process begins.
You will be responsible for building account intelligence on a defined portfolio of priority financial institutions, mapping their executive buying committees, and securing qualified executive conversations.
You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, Solution Consulting and executive leadership. You will act as the bridge between market intelligence and the sales team, and you will also own a repeatable US account-access engine.
This is not a high-volume SDR role. It rewards depth, judgment and persistence.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Account Executive:
Develop actionable account plans for a portfolio of target banks, credit unions, fintechs and specialist lenders, with intensive focus on a core group of strategic accounts.
Research each institution’s credit strategy, technology environment, incumbent processor, leadership and potential buying triggers.
Map executives and influencers across credit, lending, payments, product, technology and operations.
Identify multiple access paths through direct outreach, mutual connections, partners, advisors and industry relationships.
Monitor platform migrations, contract events, leadership changes, acquisitions and new credit programs.
Translate market intelligence into a clear commercial hypothesis and recommended outreach strategy.
Run highly personalized executive outreach grounded in each institution’s priorities.
Secure and qualify substantive executive conversations, not just introductory meetings.
Hand complete, decision-ready opportunities to Sales.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Partnerships and leadership to deepen account penetration.
Use CRM, relationship-intelligence and AI-assisted research tools to build a disciplined, repeatable process.
Travel approximately 15–25% for executive meetings and industry events.
Essential Requirements of the Senior Account Executive:
Significant experience in enterprise business development or strategic account development within fintech, payments, card processing, banking or lending technology.
Proven success securing access to senior executives inside complex financial services organizations.
Strong understanding of how banks, credit unions and fintechs evaluate platform-transformation decisions.
Experience researching named accounts, mapping buying committees and identifying commercial triggers.
Executive-level communication skills and strong CRM discipline.
Experience with card issuing, issuer processing, revolving credit or portfolio conversions is strongly preferred.
The team are offering $150,000, as well as commission, remote working, matched 401k, health/dental/vision, an employee stock purchase plan and tuition reimbursement.
If you have experience opening executive doors in banking or payments technology and enjoy long, strategic enterprise sales cycles, we would love to hear from you.
