About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized accounting professional to manage a broad range of financial and bookkeeping responsibilities. This is a hands-on position for an individual who is comfortable working independently, takes ownership of their work, and brings a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is analytical, resourceful, and attentive to detail, with the ability to manage daily accounting activities while maintaining a clear understanding of the organization's overall financial position.
Primary Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity.
Process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions using QuickBooks and Bill.com.
Review account activity and prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as needed.
Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage monthly closing activities and assist in preparing accurate financial statements.
Examine financial records, investigate discrepancies, and implement appropriate corrections.
Monitor cash activity and assist with budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
Maintain complete and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
Assist with investment account activity, distributions, financial filings, and tax-related documentation.
Support accounting and reporting requirements involving trusts and other financial arrangements, as applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for a capable professional who combines strong accounting knowledge with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience; 5 or more years preferred.
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Experience reviewing general ledger accounts and preparing journal entries based on account analysis.
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Ability to independently manage multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Effective communication skills, sound judgment, and a professional approach to responsibilities.
Familiarity with investment transactions, distributions, financial reporting requirements, and basic tax matters.
Experience with trusts or fiduciary accounting is considered a plus.
