nAbout The Role
nWEG Electric Corp. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team.
nThe Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, and supporting critical accounting and financial close activities. This role serves as a key contributor to the month-end close process, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives while providing leadership and guidance on accounting projects.
nThis is a true Senior Accountant position requiring demonstrated progressive accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience operating in a corporate or manufacturing environment and be comfortable taking ownership of complex accounting responsibilities.
nThis position is fully onsite Monday through Friday and requires close collaboration with the finance and accounting team.
nPrimary Responsibilities:
nnnMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
n
nnPerform detailed account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data
n
nnInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, documents, and reports
n
nnPrepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end close
n
nnOversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
n
nnSupport internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary schedules and documentation
n
nnAssist with the preparation of various financial statements and reports
n
nnProvide timely and accurate financial reporting to management
n
nnAssist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
n
nnMonitor budget vs. actual performance and prepare reports on budget variances
n
nnAssist with remote bank deposits
n
nnAdminister the AMEX corporate credit card program
n
nnPerform employee offboarding tasks related to AMEX and Motus programs
n
nnWork with WEG Business Services (WBS) to accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilities
n
nnAssist in entering accounts payable transactions
n
nnAssist with new vendor setup verification
n
nnMaintain records related to facility leases, including payment processing
n
nnAssist with the proper recording of all leased asset transactions, both facility and equipment
n
nnReview and calculate internal sales commissions monthly
n
nnMaintain gross margin reports related to both products and services
n
nnAssist with reviewing drop shipment transactions for revenue recognition, including invoicing
n
nnAssist in preparing schedules for federal and state income tax filings
n
nnAssist with the preparation of indirect tax returns (personal property, business license, and other regulatory filings)
n
nnEnsure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting policies
n
nnEnsure adherence to all company accounting policies and procedures
n
nnEnsure adherence to internal financial controls, supporting the company's governance framework
n
nnIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
n
nnRecommend and implement best practices for internal controls and accounting procedures
n
nnPrepare and submit US government agency reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) as directed
n
nnLead or participate in accounting projects, such as system implementations, automation initiatives, or process reengineering
n
nnProvide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff
n
nnDevelop key financial metrics and report them to management
n
n nEducation:
nnBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
n nExperience & Knowledge:
nnn5-6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment
n
nnMinimum 2 years of SAP experience
n
nnAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting
n
nnStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles
n
nnExperience supporting and owning month-end close activities
n
nnStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
n
nnAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities
n
nnExcellent verbal and written communication skills
n
nnHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
n
n nPreferred Experience:
nnnExperience within manufacturing, industrial, electrical equipment, automation, engineered products, distribution, or other related industries
n
nnExperience working in a global or multi-entity organization
n
nnKnowledge of IFRS reporting requirements
n
nnExperience leading accounting projects, process improvements, or system enhancements
n
nnCPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred
n
nnExperience partnering with operational leaders and explaining financial information to non-financial stakeholders
