Location: Charlotte, NC or Remote
Our client, a well-established leader in the insurance sector, is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their dynamic Finance team. This permanent role is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally and make a significant impact in a robust corporate environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial reports and statements.
Lead new project initiatives that will help scale the overall accounting team.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) specific to the insurance sector.
Prepare statutory financial statements and other regulatory filings.
Assist in the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Work closely with internal teams to analyze financial data and report on financial performance.
Support financial audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure all queries are handled efficiently.
Key Skills:
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience in statutory reporting and finance operations within the insurance industry.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications: Accounting Degree
