Robert Half Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's manufacturing team and play a key role in supporting the financial performance of our plant operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operations, analyzing financial results, improving processes, and using data to help drive business decisions.
As a key member of the plant finance team, the Senior Accountant will provide financial insight into manufacturing performance while partnering with plant leadership, operations, supply chain, and corporate accounting.
What You’ll Do
Manage and oversee day-to-day plant accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and plant operating results.
Perform detailed manufacturing cost accounting , including standard costs, labor, overhead, material usage, and production variances.
Analyze inventory, production costs, and manufacturing variances to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Support month-end and year-end close processes while ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting policies.
Prepare meaningful financial reports and analysis for plant and corporate leadership.
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Production teams to understand financial performance and improve profitability.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the manufacturing facility.
Monitor inventory levels, cycle counts, reserves, and inventory valuation.
Maintain and analyze fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and financial controls.
Assist with internal and external audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
Help ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Provide financial insight and recommendations to plant leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience , preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of plant accounting and cost accounting principles .
Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both accounting and non-financial stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand the bigger business picture.
Self-motivated, hands-on professional who enjoys working in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
