Position: Senior Financial Accountant

nJOB SUMMARY
nThe Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and support of the month-end close process. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams across the organization, assist with fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting, support annual audits, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives within both finance and business operations.
nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
nnnPrepares monthly balance sheet and income statement journal entries
n
nnReconciles general ledger accounts, including complex and intercompany accounts and collaborates with others to resolve reconciling items as needed
n
nnSupports month-end close process and the timely closing of the books
n
nnAssists with month-end reviews and trend analysis
n
nnAssists with month-end inventory, revenue, and costing reporting
n
nnResearches and analyzes complex financial results, and accounting issues
n
nnAssists with department budget-to-actual expense reviews and related financial discussions
n
nnAssists with operational ad hoc reporting
n
nnAssists in driving departmental process improvements
n
nnAssists in driving operational process improvements
n
nnSupports external auditors by gathering account information and documentation required for the annual audit
n
nnMaintains current knowledge of accounting standards, practices and procedures
n
nnHandles stress in a professional manner, demonstrates the ability to get along with others, demonstrates successful attendance and punctuality, and works overtime / extra hours as required to meet business needs

nnPerforms other related duties as assigned
nREQUIRED SKILLS

nnKnowledge of general financial accounting practices
n
nnStrong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
n
nnDemonstrated ability to perform complex accounting functions
n
nnProficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems
n
nnStrong organizational and time management skills
n
nnProven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
n
nnExceptional attention to detail and accuracy
n
nnStrong collaboration and teamwork skills
n
nnEffective verbal and written communication skills
nEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

nnBachelor’s degree in accounting required
n
nnMinimum five years of progressive accounting experience required
n
nnManufacturing industry experience highly preferred
n
nnCosting experience highly preferred

Office and travel have moderate noise levels. Machine/Product demonstrations and customer visits can have loud noise levels.
